A military official says a passenger train and a freight train have collided in eastern Turkey, injuring the two engine drivers.
The official says the trains collided near the town of Divrigi, in the eastern province of Sivas, today. The official, from the paramilitary force in Divrigi, says the cause of the accident is under investigation.
There is no information on the engine drivers' condition. The official spoke anonymously because he was not authorized to speak to journalists.
Train accidents are common in Turkey, where authorities are trying to improve the quality of aging tracks and to fix signaling errors.
