A former student broke into a school and killed two children and injured four others before stabbing himself and jumping to death from the fifth floor of the building in Leizhou city in south China's Guangdong province.
Chen Wenzhen, a school dropout, barged into the Middle School and fatally stabbed a boy and a girl of Senior Two grade and injured four others, including three students and a teacher who tried to stop him, authorities said.
The assailant, described as mentally disturbed, was a Senior Two student but had dropped out six months ago complaining he often suffered from headache and could not concentrate on his studies, the school headmaster Zheng Jiu said.
Police would not identify the victims or confirm reports that the suspect was targeting specific persons, official Xinhua news agency said.
The injured persons were being treated at Leizhou People's Hospital, the authorities said giving no further details.
