A senior police officer and his guard were killed and three others critically injured when a roadside bomb in northwest Pakistan targeted the vehicle they were travelling in on Friday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Javed Iqbal and his guard were killed in the bomb attack that occurred at Lakki Marwat town in North West Frontier Province (NWFP), officials said.
They said three policemen were also injured in the attack and were in a critical condition.
In a separate incident, an army convoy was targeted by a roadside bomb at Badhaber in Peshawar, the capital of the NWFP, police said, adding a civilian was injured in the blast.
No group has claimed responsibility for the two attacks.
