Two Pakistanis were sentenced to death by a Yemeni court on Saturday after being convicted of drug trafficking, state media reported.

"Salim Dawod Abdulrahim and Imam Bakhsh Eyepub Yakoub received death penalty after the court convicted them of smuggling 1,695 kg of hashish into Yemen through its coastal territories," official Saba news agency cited the court's verdict as saying.

The court also sentenced two other Pakistani men - Ghulam Jan Wali Mohamed and Mohamed Sadiek Ahmed Badi- to 25-year jail terms for their involvement in the drug trafficking. While seven others were acquitted from the case for lack of evidence.

A total of 11 Pakistani fishermen were arrested in May 2008 with 1,695 kg of hashish in Yemen's territorial waters, Xinhua reported citing Saba news agency.
