Brar has said he believes the attack was an assassination attempt linked to his role in the 1984 assault on the Golden Temple in Amritsar, in which more than 1,000 people were killed.

Police said that Barjinder Singh Sangha, 33, and Mandeep Singh Sandhu, 34, have been charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm in relation to the attack and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later Monday.
