Just how India is obsessed with cricket, other countries, too, have their passion for various sports. Here’s an exhibition that showcases people’s sporty side and also the emotions behind the game. “Each year, Fondation Alliance Française organises an international photography contest spread across continents. Topic for this year was Objectif Sport. Non-professional photographers were invited to best portray the sport of their country and the values it conveys, through their work,” says Jérôme Clement, président, Fondation Alliance Française, Paris. This is the sixth year of the photo exhibition, and 50 countries are taking part.

What more can you expect? A contemporary dance performance from Israel. The popular dance show YAMA is choreographed by Laura Arend who came to India to be a Yoga teacher but ended up choreographing this dance. “The message of the dance show is to understand that life is short. We all want to change the world but to do that, we have to change ourselves first,” says Arend, whose first trip to India was to Goa.

This was Arend’s first creation, and he spent four weeks making it. “To pass from a dancer position to a leader and then a choreographer can be very challenging. I’ve experienced it all. I made a lot of mistakes on the way but I was lucky enough to have outstanding dancers surrounding me,” she says.
