36.76% of households in Bihar have concrete houses (2+ rooms), 22.37% have concrete houses (1 room), 26.54% have tin shed houses, and 14.09% live in huts. Only 0.24% are homeless.

17 years on, Bihar ready with by-laws to run apartment complexes

The Bihar government is set to introduce model by-laws to govern residential apartment complexes, granting legal recognition to apartment owners' associations. The by-laws will be sent to the state cabinet for approval and will allow associations to register with the co-operative department. The by-laws remove a clause mandating representation from various castes and tribes on the board of management. The by-laws cover topics such as the functioning of the association, meeting procedures, powers and duties, board of management, and financial audits. Once implemented, the by-laws will help apartment dwellers properly maintain their housing societies.

Draft list of polling stations out in Bihar, Covid curb on no. of voters at a booth lifted

The process of rationalizing polling stations and inviting claims/objections from political parties has begun in Bihar for the 2024 general election. Each polling station will have a maximum of 1,500 voters, and the number of booths is expected to be reduced from the 2020 assembly polls. Claims/objections will be received until August 19 and disposed of by August 25. The total number of electors in Bihar is 7.58 crore, as per the updated voters list.
