Having spent months shivering in the morning chill, the 90 students of Government Primary School, Kutcha Number 16, Fieldganj, Ludhiana, cannot heave a sigh of relief even in summer. The sunny mornings would prove to be of little respite to these children, as they spend day after day in a school, which has no roof, classrooms, toilets or drinking water facility.

It's a good news for government schools as they will get reimbursement for the additional LPG cylinders used for cooking midday meal. Earlier, the government schools were paying for the additional cylinders from their own pocket.

The Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) have instructed its affiliated schools to preserve and keep the answer books of classes IX and X, in safe custody, at the school for at least a period of three years, in case of Class IX, and two years, in case of Class X, along with question papers and marking schemes for subsequent verification by the board.
