Samdha Lake: Bird watchers too get a reason to wing it to Ayodhya

Ayodhya, a major religious tourism destination, is developing a bird sanctuary at Samdha Lake to attract tourists and promote bird watching in the area. The lake is being restored to its natural form with the removal of encroachments and the planting of saplings. The Ayodhya Development Authority plans to restore all 108 water bodies in the district. The use of minimal construction materials will allow plants to grow and provide a habitat for birds. Multiple lakes in close proximity will attract more birds, enhancing the bird-watching experience.

KGMU doctors innovate to weed out human interface in dental surgery

Doctors at King George’s Medical University have developed a dental technology that eliminates the need for an assistant during surgery. The innovative cheek retractor also protects the patient's eyes from harmful aerosols.

Retraction of the cheek (needed to make space for the dental procedure) and suction of saliva cannot be done by a dentist alone while performing a dental surgery/treatment in the mouth. Hence an assistant does it. The innovation was made to solve this issue and do away with the need of an assistant. (FOR REPRESENTATION)
