The French motor manufacturer will be asking the crowds at October's Paris Motor Show to help it choose whether its latest creation car should go from concept to production.
Citroen has built two SUV-inspired concepts based on its new supermini city car, the C1. The C1 Urban Ride Concept stands 15mm higher off the ground than the standard car and features chunkier tires, wider wheel arches and jutting front and rear bumpers.
At the Citroen stand it will be presented as a five-door hardtop and as an ‘Airspace' version with a retracting cloth roof.
Special tablet-like terminals will allow visitors to cast their votes to decide if either should be going into production.
As well as adding an extra layer of interactivity to a visit, part of the purpose of the crowd-sourcing exercise is to highlight how easy it is to customize the standard C1 and to show the car-buying public that Citroen is aware that adding personalized touches to even the most basic and utilitarian of vehicles is a growing trend.
The Paris Motor Show opens its doors to the public on October 2.
