Jaguar launched a diesel version of its entry-level luxury sedan -- the XE -- in India at Rs 38.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) on Monday, costlier by only a lakh rupees than the petrol variant.
The Jaguar XE diesel is powered by 2.0-litre engine that generates 180PS (32 kW) power when connected to a 8-speed automatic transmission. It comes in three variants – Pure, Prestige and Portfolio.

Launching the diesel XE, Jaguar Land Rover India MD Rohit Suri said, “The XE is based on Jaguar’s light-weight aluminum architecture which uses expertise derived from the aerospace industry to deliver premium vehicle characteristics in performance and refinement, demonstrating the true sporting character of the acclaimed Jaguar F-TYPE.”
The XE comes loaded with features such as the Jaguar drive control, torque vectoring by braking, all surface progress control, Meridian sound system (380 W), sliding panoramic sunroof and 8-inch touchscreen with InControl Touch Infotainment System, which further enhance Jaguar XE’s appeal.
