Bhopal: Granted bail in Malegaon bomb blast case Sadhvi Pragya Thakur has locked horns with the Congress on the issue of saffron terror.

Pragya who got bail from Bombay high court on April 25 has blamed the Congress for coining the phrase ‘Hindu terrorism’ without any basis whereas the state Congress has dared her to come forward to have a debate on ‘nationalism, patriotism, Hindutva and saffron terrorism’.

Talking to newspersons at Pt Khushilal Ayurvedic Degree College premises where she is being treated Pragya Thakur on Thursday said saffron terrorism meant nothing. This was all a Congress’ conspiracy which had been exposed. The then United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government had fabricated the story to establish the term ‘saffron terrorism’.

Targetting the then home minister P Chidambaram she said those who didn’t believe in religion didn’t see any good in saffron.

She said she was implicated under false charges in a bid to eliminate her. The national investigation agency (NIA) was the same now which existed earlier but the result was for all to see.

Pragya Thakur blamed the anti-terrorist squad (ATS), Mumbai for her bad health while alleging she was tortured by ATS sleuths for 13 days. “I was in good health when I was arrested but now I am dependent on others”, she added.

In a statement on Friday the state Congress chief spokesperson KK Mishra termed Pragya Thakur’s charges against the Congress a result of her frustration.

Mishra said Pragya must remember that she was not acquitted. She had just got a bail from the court.

He said there were several questions which needed to be answered as to who killed former RSS pracharak Sunil Joshi who was an accused in Ajmer blast and close to Pragya Thakur and under whose pressure the case was closed.

“If there is no saffron terrorism what Pragya Thakur will say on Babri demolition, Gujarat riots, Malegaon blast, Ajmer and Samjhauta Express blasts and also the bomb blasts at Purna, Jalna, Nanded and Mhow. What she will say on arrest of Aseemanand, Dayanand Pandey, Lt Colonel Shrikant Purohit, Major Ramesh Upadhyay, Sameer Kulkarni, Ramji Kalsangra, Dilip Patidar, Shayam Sahu, Sandeep Dange and several others in connection with bomb blasts”, asked Mishra.
