Ever since she made her Bollywood debut in Vicky Donor, Yami Gautam has been known as the pretty girl-next-door. The model-turned-actor was already a well-known face before she stepped into films, thanks to her advertising campaigns. But after six films, the actor is all set to undergo an image makeover in the third installment of Sarkar.

A source reveals, “Yami is looking forward to exploring a new side to herself. Yami has an intense, serious, action-packed role in Ram Gopal Varma’s next film. This is a first for her and she is extremely excited to venture into territory. In her last release, Kaabil, she pushed the envelope when she played the role of a visually impaired woman. With all the roles that she has been offered, she has consciously chosen roles that portray her in a variety of roles.

The Sanam Re actor says, “Both Kaabil and Sarkar 3 are extremely different from each other. While, in Kaabil, I played a visually impaired yet a lively and fun loving character, with Sarkar 3, I will get to explore a very different side; more intense, more strong. It’s very exciting.”

Our source reveals that when RGV approached her for the role, the actor was shocked and couldn’t immediately make up her mind. It was only after a look test that she made up her mind to be part of the project.
