Boman Irani calls his grandson ‘a dramebaaz’, says he has become a spot boy to him
From becoming fitter to balancing work, travel and food, actor Boman Irani says he’s enjoying being a grandparent.
Boman Irani’s fitter avatar made his fans wonder if he’s prepping up for an upcoming role. The 57-year-old, however, clears the air and says, “Yes, I have lost weight. I thought it’s just nice to be fitter, especially after I became a grandfather.” He is quick to add, “When you become a grandfather, they [people] suddenly age you by 10 years for no reason. I thought I’ll de-age myself a little bit!”
Boman welcomed his first grand child, Ziaan on July 3 last year, and he’s grown immensely close to him. Calling the little one ‘a big dramebaaz’, Boman says his grandson is a lot like him. “You have to understand... he’s my grandson. Mera toh kuch toh utrega na! (he’ll ultimately be a shadow of me) And I’m not talking about acting, but just doing kalakari at home. I’m good at it. When I want attention, I know how to get it. And that’s actually the most important dramebaazi I do in my life. He seeks a lot of attention and even manages to get it. I have become a spot boy to my grandson!,” laughs Boman.
Talking about his physical transformation, Boman says it was high time he got into shape. “I needed to get a little fitter. I was enjoying life too much. I was having good food and enjoying good travel. When you are travelling, you think you might as well eat. Too much of good things is good for nothing. In fact, too much of dieting is also not a good thing. You need to balance. I’m happy balancing.”
