While all eyes were on the box office battle between Simran and Lucknow Central, a third player has emerged from the shadows, threatening to change the dynamics of the game.
Kangana Ranaut’s Simran and Farhan Akhtar’s Lucknow Central were allotted almost equal number of screens and their initial box office numbers reciprocated it. Simran garnered Rs 2.77 crore while Lucknow Central opened with Rs 2.04 crore tally.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted the second day business figures of both the films and one can’t help but notice how a positive word of mouth is helping Lucknow Central.
While Simran shows a growth of 35.74% on its second day, Lucknow Central registered a growth of 38.24%.

However, at this rate, both the films are likely to lose money as these numbers don’t seem enough to get them the ‘hit’ tag.
On top of that, Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is still not ready to buzz off.
#LucknowCentral shows 38.24% growth on Sat... Fri 2.04 cr, Sat 2.82 cr. Total: ₹ 4.86 cr. India biz.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) September 17, 2017
Even in its third week, it’s registering decent footfall. As per Adarsh, Shubh Mangal Saavhdan earned Rs 1.26 crore on Saturday that takes its total tally to Rs 37.67 crore. At this point, it can be safely declared a hit.
#ShubhMangalSaavdhan nearly doubles again on Sat... [Week 3] Fri 65 lakhs, Sat 1.26 cr. Total: ₹ 37.67 cr. India biz. HIT.— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) September 17, 2017
A lot depends on Sunday’s numbers for Simran and Lucknow Central. If these films fail to double up their collections on Sunday then they are in for a big trouble as far as their business is concerned.
