The big news this week has been Kapil Sharma cancelling the shoot of his show, The Kapil Sharma Show, yet again. Caught unawares by this cancellation was Baadshaho team, led by Ajay Devgn. As soon as the news came out this week, reports claimed Ajay Devgn walked off the sets in a huff. However, Ajay said during an interaction with media that the reports of him leaving Kapil’s show were “highly exaggerated”.

In fact, the actor has denied that he walked off from the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show and says that while he is not sure why Kapil cancelled the shoot, he will definitely ask him about this when they meet next. Ajay, along with Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta and Emraan Hashmi, was supposed to promote Milan Luthria-directed Baadshaho on the show. This is the seventh cancellation of Kapil’s shoot in the last few months.

“Shows have been cancelled quite a number of times. I really don’t know what happened exactly. But reports said that we left the sets in anger. We did not leave in anger. We left as he had not reached the sets till then. He’s a friend. When I’ll talk to him next, we’ll get to know what was wrong. Kapil must have had some problem. But I really don’t know. So, if there is anger or not, I can’t really answer your question,” Devgn said when asked about the reports.

The actor was in the capital to promote the Milan Luthria-directed film. When a reporter said even Shah Rukh Khan was miffed with Kapil, Devgn dismissed the claim. “There is nothing like what you are making it out to be. Nobody has boycotted going to his (Kapil’s) show. Shah Rukh has not issued any statement. There is nothing like that. We are colleagues. All of us want to do a better job. There’s good faith whenever we meet,” he said.

Ever since Kapil’s much-publicised mid-air tussle with co-star Sunil Grover in March, his show has been in free fall. TRPs have taken a hit and other programmes like Dance Plus 3, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs have overtaken Kapil’s show. Sunil later departed the show, and has publicly refused to return.

Other than Ajay and Shah Rukh Khan leaving the show’s sets without shooting, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Arjun Rampal also left without canning their episodes. Kapil has been hospitalised due to low blood pressure in the past.

Baadshaho is slated to release this Friday.
