Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi’s mother, Maherahh Hashmi, who had been suffering from cancer, passed away on March 11. Emraan, who was shooting for director Vikram Bhatt’s film Raaz 4 in Sibiu, Romania, at that time, rushed back to Mumbai when he got the news, to be with his family. The funeral service for his mother took place in Bandra (W) on March 13.
The actor was supposed to resume working on Azhar, a biopic on Mohammed Azharuddin, on March 16. The makers assumed that Emraan would take a few days off before getting back to work.

But the actor didn’t want to delay the shoot because of a personal tragedy, and therefore, got back to the sets within one day, on March 17.
A source close to the actor says, “Emraan cancelled only one day’s shoot when he got to know about his mother’s demise. He did not want to delay the shoot any further. He also wanted to occupy his mind with work. So, he returned to the sets the soonest he could.”
Apparently, to make up for the lost time, Emraan shot for over 12 hours in one day to complete two days of work. “He wanted to get the schedule back on track,” adds the source.
