Hindi Medium trailer: Irrfan Khan is waging a war, against English

Irrfan Khan never stops surprising his fans. The first trailer of his forthcoming film, Hindi Medium, which also stars Pakistani actor Saba Qamar, is out.

Irrfan Khan never fails to surprise you. After a string of superlative performances in recent times, the Bollywood actor revealed the first trailer of his next big surprise: Hindi Medium, a Saket Choudhary-directed film which also stars Pakistani actor Saba Qamar.

Hindi Medium shows Irrfan and Saba as a young couple struggling to get the perfect education for their daughter. Saket co-wrote Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Asoka (2001) and has also directed Pyaar Ke Side Effects(2006).

Irrfan plays a commoner who cannot speak English: “My life is Hindi but my wife is English.” The trailer showcases the struggles “Hindi medium” people face in today’s society where English is a yardstick for a person’s intelligence and coolness.

Deepak Dobriyal also stars in the film which is slated to hit theatres on May 12.
