Hope Salman finds it funny: Shirish Kunder
Director Shirish Kunder borrows from the actor’s Ek Tha Tiger poster to promote his upcoming film, Joker. Farah reportedly visited her friend Shah Rukh with the aliens who play a part in the film. Shirish, meanwhile, chose to lean on Salman.
Just as most of the film industry makes an effort to maintain friendly ties with both the warring Khans — Shah Rukh and Salman — simultaneously, film couple Farah and Shirish Kunder are split on their choice.
With Joker’s lead actors Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha barely promoting the film, Farah reportedly visited her friend Shah Rukh with the aliens who play a part in the film. Shirish, meanwhile, chose to lean on Salman.
A source close to Shirish reveals that Joker’s new promo apes the poster image of Salman’s recent blockbuster, Ek Tha Tiger, and introduces the alien, Golkot. “There is an uncanny resemblance between Salman Khan’s first poster where he is looking over Morocco, and the computer-generated alien looking upon the fictitious region of Paglapur in this film,” says the source.
Confirming the news, Shirish says, “Golkot is a big fan of Salman Khan and strikes the same pose as he did in Ek Tha Tiger. I am sure Salman will find this quite funny.”
This is not the first reference the director has made to his actor friend. The first promo also plays on the name of Salman’s NGO, Being Human. It reads, ‘When being human doesn’t work… try being alien’.
Shirish has worked with international experts to make this new promo, which would give a glimpse of the heavy-duty effects in the sci-fi film.
Jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures, Akshay’s Hari Om Productions and Farah-Shirish’s Three's Company Productions Pvt. Ltd, the film revolves around a fictitious place, Paglapur where an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) once landed and Sonakshi’s character divulges how the lives of people changed. It will release this Friday.
