Toilet Ek Prem Katha was a major success in India.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which opened in the China box office on Friday, is a ‘much larger’ release than previous releases Hindi Medium and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

The Akshay Kumar-Bhumi Pednekar starrer is being screened in 11,500 screens across the country with approximately 56,000 shows every day, according to film critic Taran Adarsh.

“#Xclusiv: 11,500 screens... 56,000 shows every day [may go up to 58,000 shows]... #ToiletEkPremKatha opens in China today [8 June 2018]... Much larger release than #HindiMedium and #BajrangiBhaijaan in China...Titled #ToiletHero for the local audiences,” tweeted Adarsh.

He also shared a fresh poster of the film featuring both Bhumi and Akshay. He also wrote, “And here’s the new poster of #ToiletEkPremKatha for the local Chinese audiences... #TEPK”

Toilet Ek Prem Katha, a satirical comedy in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign to improve sanitation conditions in India, had hit the domestic box office in August 2017.

It became one of the top grossers of 2017 by raking in a whopping Rs 134.22 crore on its release in India.
