The news of Aamir Khan playing the Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma was everywhere when the star gave his confirmation for the film. Later, the name of the film was decided as Salute. Now, it has been learnt that ‘Mr Perfectionist’ has left the film. The reason being cited is Aamir Khan’s creative differences with the film’s crew. Salute is the directorial debut of Mahesh Mathai. It was also expected to feature Priyanka Chopra as Aamir’s wife in the film.
DNA has quoted a source close to the film as saying, “There were some points of disagreement between him and the creative team.”
In the planning stage, the film was scheduled to hit the screens on the Independence Day, 2018. Aamir, who is currently shooting for Thugs Of Hindostan in Thailand, was expected to start working on Salute in January, next year.
Now, latest reports suggest that the makers have approached Shah Rukh to play the lead role in the film, but there isn’t any confirmation on it yet.
Aamir was last seen as an unruly pop singer in Secret Superstar that released on Diwali alongside Golmaal Returns. It failed to put the box office on fire unlike Aamir previous film Dangal.
