Most people would remember Isshq Bector for his hit single, Aye hip hopper. The singer is now back on the music circuit and is the voice behind the title track of Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film, Besharam.

“We came up with the song during a jam. We were just having fun and ended up in a zone where we put the song together. Himanshu (Mehra, producer of the film) penned the lyrics,” informs Bector, who sang ‘Besharam’ with his music partner Shree.

The Indo-Canadian hip-hop artiste also expresses his gratitude to veteran composer Lalit Pandit, who composed the soundtrack for the film. “Lalitji was gracious enough to include our song. I also want to thank Abhinav (Singh Kashyap, director). We share an awesome chemistry,” says Bector, who has sung for films like Ugly Aur Pagli (2008), Mission Istanbul (2008), and has hosted shows for youth channels in the past.

Currently, he is working on Ram Gopal Varma’s Satya 2. “We have composed two songs, one is an aggressive dubstep track and the other is a dark number on the theme of death.”

Having shot to fame thanks to his slick videos, how relevant is the exercise of shooting videos in today’s time when channels don’t play music like before? “We have to adapt. When I think of videos, I don’t have TV in mind anymore. There’s a huge audience online and the number of views any video receives is a clear indication of its success,” says Bector.
