Andhadhun maker signs Jai Bhatia for key role in web series

Critically acclaimed Kewal Garg will cast Jai in his upcoming web series to be broadcast over the OTT platforms, which have come in vogue in the past few months on account of the Covid-19 disruptions.

After commercial stints and rubbing shoulders with Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, Jai Bhatia is all set to take a plunge in web series acting. The makers of thriller Andhadhun have signed up Jai for a key role in an upcoming web series.

Jai is all geared for a full scale acting career in web series after proving his mettle in theatre. Well versed with camera works, Jai has already a sting of an assistant director for two years under his belt. Jai has been trained in acting by the prestigious lee Strasberg theatre and film institute.

Critically acclaimed Kewal Garg will cast Jai in his upcoming web series to be broadcast over the OTT platforms, which have come in vogue in the past few months on account of the Covid-19 disruptions. Kewal was one of the producers of the critically acclaimed movie Andhadhun, which brought Ayushmann Kurrana many appreciations for his acting prowess.

“The shooting will begin in November, and Jai is going to play a key role in the web series. Jai had been doing theatre since his high school days,” said Kewal.

Jai is a huge fan of Ranbir Kapoor, who is also an alumni of the Lee Strasberg theatre and film school, New York.

“The year 2020 has been toughest for many, and the demise of legendary actors like Rishi Kapoor and Irfan khan only made the awful year more sombre. The film industry has felt the pain of the passing away of the icons,” said Jai, who added that acting is a way for him to spread positive energy.

Besides the passing away of the film icons, the death the talented Sushant Singh Rajput also turned Jai sombre.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has changed everything around us. It has made it difficult to move freely, and any creative work in current scenario opens up avenues to escape from the disappointments,” said Jai.

Jai stated that he is highly excited about the web series project, which will give him ample opportunities to indulge in his creative passion.

“I am really excited to be a part of the project. Acting has always been my passion, and I have also been an assistant director for two years during which I learnt different aspects of the film making craft. Obviously, it is going to be a new challenge to face the camera, as behind the camera work is always different than facing the lenses,” said Jai.

Jai has a vast experience of acting in television commercials, besides modelling for big brands. “I had recently done a commercial shoot along with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan for a reputed jewellery brand,” said Jai, adding that acting with “Amitabh Bachchan sir gave me huge confidence”.

Jay had decided tp walk the acting path when he was in 10th class in the school. “I was very active in theatre in my school. My family supported my decision fully. They know that I am a very committed towards my profession,” said Jai.
