Multi-faceted Shanu Suresh is open to challenges

Her TV programme, Page 3, on Kappa TV has been a huge favorite among her audience. With about 70,000 followers on her Instagram page, Shanu is taking up a new role, that of social media influencer.

When Shanu Suresh became the first Keralite to win the ‘Ms. South India’ crown in 2005, she was just a 15-year-old. Since then, it has been more than 15 years since she has been making her presence felt in the entertainment industry. She has forayed into TV presentation and production, radio-jockeying, modeling, entrepreneurship and, lately has become a social media influencer. The girl sure wears lots of feathers on her hat.

Her audience is already familiar with her body of work and her vivacious personality on TV. Her TV programme, Page 3, on Kappa TV has been a huge favorite among her audience. In fact, there is an interesting bit of information about her Page 3 days. While she was shooting this show, Shanu was also pursuing her studies in Bengaluru. So, every Friday, she would catch a bus to Kerala, shoot the show on Saturday and soon after, go back to Bengaluru. When it was time for annual examinations, her team had to either work out her dates or shoot in advance.

Her modeling days began much earlier. She was just 13 and took this up as something fun to try out. However, soon she became serious about it and eventually went on to work in many high profile assignments.

The most important challenge that she faced amidst her hectic work schedule was to keep up with her studies. In between modeling assignments, Shanu didn’t allow her studies to be sidelined in any way. It was this earnestness that saw her finish her M.Sc. in Industrial Psychology. Even when she got an offer to work in a movie named Rasikan, Shanu gave more importance to her academics. In her line of work, Shanu has interviewed some of the top stars of the day like Mammooty, Mohanlal, Shobana, Vikram, Manju Warrier, Prabhu Deva, etc. As for modeling, she has walked the ramp for Kochi Fashion Week, Indian Fashion League, Brides of India, and has been the face of prominent brands like Bhima Gold, McDonald’s, Tata Motors, etc.

Her main concern is to find artistic freedom in whatever she does, whether it is TV presentation, modeling or acting. Recently, she also got an opportunity to present at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which she took up as another one of her challenges.

With about 70,000 followers on her Instagram page, Shanu is taking up a new role, that of social media influencer. Her opinions and posts create a strong impact on her fans and she intends to use this medium to bring positive change in society.
