With simple and easy to understand English and a gripping narrative, the new detective fiction novel “The Secret of Palamu Fort” written by Razi, aims to join the space immortalised by legendary fictional detectives Sherlock Holmes and our very own Byomkesh Bakshi as well as Feluda.

Razi, or Dr. Razi Ahmad, who is a critical care specialist at a multi-speciality hospital in Ranchi, has woven a tale of murder, intrigue , suspense and a dose of horror with the protagonist Robin Horo at the centre of it all.

Horo lives in Ranchi and has been shown as a local detective, who solves the mysteries using innovative methods. The narrative takes off when Robin Horo is handed over a difficult case by the police. The case was about a ghost killing random people. But as the story unfolds, Robin finds out that the murders are not as random as they seem. The killings have a pattern and the ghost has a motive. As we delve deeper into the story, Robin finds an intricate historical connection with the murders. And that is when the reader is pulled into the talisman of a mysterious, thrilling and adventurous roller coaster ride, masterfully created by the author.

The plot includes a centuries-old curse, the kingdom of Palamu, its king Raja Medini Ray, the legend behind Elixir of Doisa, and a deadly conspiracy planned, making the book completely unputdownable. Razi plans to come out with a series of books with Robin Horo as the protagonist. ‘The Secret of Palamu Fort’ has managed to bring into literary mainstream stories which emanate from the nooks and corners of small towns of India. With the story and its main characters based in Jharkhand, it underlines the significance of highlighting the various unheard and unheralded regions of the country. Palamu is an actual historical site in Jharkhand and Razi has very intelligently woven the history of this place into a an engaging novel. Get your hands on the book as soon as you can!
