The digital video coverage from this partnership of Hindustan Times and editorji is possibly the largest ever initiative of its kind in India.

Media powerhouse Hindustan Times has joined hands with the personalised video news app editorji for extensive and special video coverage of General Elections 2019. Hindustan Times and editorji have been working on programming that will give viewers an alternative to TV news. Shows that are being done by editorji, including interviews and ground reports, are being showcased on Hindustan Times properties, including the website, mobile sites and social media feeds. Hindustan Times is creating unique playlists that are running on the editorji app. The two partners are also developing special shows together that feature Hindustan Times content teams, and are anchored by media veteran Vikram Chandra.

On the 23rd of May, on Counting Day, editorji will roll out comprehensive live coverage, hosted by Vikram Chandra with a panel comprising Hindustan Times’ top political journalists, politicians, top political analysts, and data experts. The show will be available on hindustantimes.com, livehindustan.com, livemint.com, and regional sites marathi.hindustantimes.com and punjabi.hindustantimes.com. More details about this Counting Day show, and the other partners involved, will be released soon.

The digital video coverage from this partnership of Hindustan Times and editorji is possibly the largest ever initiative of its kind in India. This is also the first time in two decades that Vikram and his team of highly experienced journalists are stepping away from TV to focus exclusively on digital formats.

Speaking about this initiative, Nilanjana Bhaduri Jha, Chief Content Officer for HT Digital says “Hindustan Times has always been at the forefront of innovation. We strive to constantly bring our users the best experience and new initiatives and are very excited to partner with editorji and election veteran Vikram Chandra for a unique digital-only coverage of election 2019 counting day. “

Vikram Chandra, Founder of editorji said, “My first memory of election results was standing in front of the Hindustan Times building in 1977, watching the results go up on a giant scoreboard. It is a matter of great pleasure and pride to now work on the 2019 General Elections in partnership with HT. We look forward to making May 23rd the largest ever digital-only election counting show.”
