Herbal remedies for weight loss are extremely popular. But it is important to select the herbs wisely since all of them do not work on everyone and their intake must be planned carefully.

Fennel seeds: They are extremely effective in supporting weight loss as the seeds directly work on your metabolism. Drink a cup of fennel seed tea 15 minutes before eating a heavy meal to curb your appetite.

Grapefruit: Known for its cleansing effect on the kidneys, grapefruit regulates the body’s water retention capacities and curbs the associated weight gain.

Flower of life: Hibiscus contains liver-supporting minerals, and ascorbic acid

A natural source of hydroxycitric acid, hibiscus contains liver-supporting minerals, vitamins such as chromium and ascorbic acid. These are key components of the metabolic pathways (a series of chemical reactions which occur within a cell). Deficiency of one of the metabolic pathway components can lead to obesity.

Kanchnar guggul:

It is commonly used to stimulate the thyroid gland and can be effective in weight loss.

It rebuilds damaged tissues, promotes new tissue growth and increases the count of red blood cells. It also helps cleanse the liver, strengthen teeth and is the highest natural source of vitamin C. It is a one of the three herbs used in triphala, an ayurvedic tonic for maintaining health.

It is used as a laxative. You can also use bibitaki to gargle because of its sore-throat soothing properties. It is also used in triphala.

It’s a pungent herb used to improve digestion and remove toxins from the gastrointestinal tract.

It is a blood purifier and protects the liver. Guduchi also balances high pitta.

This herb has been used for its antiseptic properties. It also controls elevated blood cholesterol and arthritis.

It is used to control blood sugar levels in the body.

A bitter and pungent herb, kutki has been used by ayurvedic practitioners as a catalyst for the proper functioning of the liver and the spleen.

It is one of the best disinfectants for skin diseases and acts as an anti-inflammatory for joint and muscle pain. Neem also balances high pitta.

Natural remedy: Grapefruit cleans the kidneys and prevents water retention

Prevents hormonal imbalances, stomach ulcers, inflammations and fever.

If you’re in your 40s, complement your diet with these herbs. Remember to detoxify and exercise regularly to lose weight.
