BSNL has come out with attractive Diwali offers for its cellone (mobile) prepaid customers and leased line Internet (sancharnet) customers.

Under the special offer for pre-paid cellone customers, recharge coupons of Rs 500, Rs 1000 and Rs 2000 denominations will now have full talk time equal to the value of the coupon minus eight per cent service tax, BSNL general manager (Tamil Nadu Telecom circle) K Mahadevan told reporters on Monday.

The festival discount offers being offered for leased line Internet ports hired during the Diwali promotion period starting with effect from September 22 to October 25 include waiver of the initial charge of Rs 10,000 if the leased line is hired for a minimum period of six months.

A discount of five per cent on normal charges of Internet leased line port is also being offered if the leased line is hired for at least one year, under the festival offer.

The Chennai circle would shortly be offering an additional 1.7 lakh to two lakh cellone connections covering an additional 133 towns and existing connections numbering 3.4 lakh covering 137 towns.

Development activities in the Tamil Nadu circle for the current fiscal were in full swing, he said adding already 43,000 fixed line connections have been provided against a target of 50,000 and about 2,700 WLL connections against a target of 7,50,000. WLL equipment for rural connectivity for about 55,000 connections had already been allotted, he said.
