Its consolidated revenues registered a jump of 19% to Rs. 6,538.77 crore from Rs. 5,503.69 crore in the year-ago period.
Analysts had expected Idea to report a net profit of Rs. 400 crore, according to Thomson Reuters.
Idea Cellular said that it was able to reduce its debt despite rupee depreciation. Its minutes of voice calls increased by 12.5% on year-on-year basis to 147.3 billion.
