Toyota exhibits hydrogen fuel cell car, offers up to 640km range
Toyota Mirai's electric motor produces 182 bhp power and 300 Nm of peak torque. This electric motor also enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 9.2 seconds.
Toyota presented its hydrogen fuel cell vehicle at the ongoing Auto Expo 2023 event in Greater Noida. Running on hydrogen, Toyota Mirai can give a range of up to 640 kms in full tank. The company has brought this car to India as a pilot project for hydrogen cars. It is believed that the cost of running a km from this comes only one rupee, reports Live Hindustan.
Toyota Mirai is an Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV). A hydrogen tank has been given in it, there is a reaction between oxygen and hydrogen extracted from the atmosphere, due to which electricity is generated. This drives the electric motor and then the car. According to the report, it has 3 hydrogen tanks that can be filled in just 5 minutes. It also has a 1.24kWh battery pack.

Mirai has been developed on the Toyota New Global Architecture platform. It is a coupe style sedan having 4.9 m length. It gets 20-inch wheels and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from this, it offers colour head-up display, panoramic view monitor, digital rear-view mirror, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, heated, ventilated seats, Toyota Teammate software for driver assistance among other features.
Termed as one of the biggest auto exhibition of Asia, Auto Expo The Motor Show 2023 is held at Greater Noida’s India Expo Mart from January 13 to 18. Set on the theme of “Explore the World of Future Mobility”, the biennial automobile event returns after a year of break due to Covid-19.
