2 arrested for assault, robbery in Manimjara

The police have arrested two persons for committing robbery and assaulting a shopkeeper in Manimjara.The accused have been identified as Manoj Kumar and Vivek, both residents of Manimajra. Jagdeep, a resident of Manimjara, alleged that Manoj Kumar, Vivek, Kalu Dancer, Habasi, Kuldeep alias Lala, Monu, Vikas alias Kala, Veeru and others threatened and attacked him and his brother with sticks and iron rods and took away Rs70,000, a gold chain, gold bracelet from him.

The victims sustained injuries and were rushed to the Manimajra public health centre. The police nabbed Manjo Kumar and Vivek, while other accused are still at large.

A case under section 147 (rioting), 148 (armed with a deadly weapon), 149 (unlawful assembly), 397 (robbery), 452 (assault or wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation), (34) (act done by several persons) has been registered at the Manimajra police station.

In another incident, Sanjeev Bakshi, a resident of Dadu Majra village, said someone stole recharge coupons of Rs 10,000, a cigarette box, mobile phones and cosmetic items from his shop on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

The police arrested Mohan alias Mohni and Suraj, both residents of Sector 24, in this connection.
