Haryana minister, daughter deny involvement in BJP leader’s murder
Haryana excise and taxation minister Kiran Chaudhary and her daughter and former Lok Sabha MP Shruti Chaudhary informed the Punjab and Haryana high court on Tuesday that they have no role in the murder of BJP leader Rakesh Malik in Bhiwani, in February, and the petition filed against them is politically motivated.

The information was submitted during the resumed hearing of a petition filed by deceased BJP leader’s wife Anita Malik levelling allegations against the minister and her daughter. The petitioner had also sought police protection. A first-information report (FIR) was registered in the case at Tosham police station in Bhiwani for murder, criminal conspiracy and under the Arms Act on February 21.
The Haryana minister and her daughter informed the court that the petitioner was being used as a pawn by their political opponents who are making scandalous and reckless allegations against them in view of the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
The investigating agency in the case, after carrying out a probe and arresting the real culprits, had already filed challan on April 26 in the court of the judicial magistrate first class at Bhiwani, it was submitted. They added that the investigating agency had not come across a single piece of evidence to show their involvement in the case in any manner.
The case would now come up for hearing on November 18.
