City MP Kirron Kher discussed the development projects for Sarangpur village during a meeting with the UT administration officials here on Monday.

Kher adopted the said village in Chandigarh under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana recently.

The city member of Parliament told the officials that functioning of e-sampark centres needed to be monitored closely so that residents did not face any kind of problem.

Issues pertaining to water, power supply and improvement of primary health centres were discussed during the meeting.
Housing problem of colony dwellers and their rehabilitation were also highlighted on the occasion.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Kher said: “It was a routine meeting with the officials to discuss the pace of different projects being undertaken and planned for the city.

She said: “In the next meeting we will focus on projects related to infrastructure.”

She said the traffic issue needed to be addressed at the earliest. The residents were regularly facing bottlenecks and a solution needed to be discussed. The creation of underpasses and other solutions would be discussed during the next meeting.

The meeting was attended by UT Adviser Vijay Dev, home secretary Anurag Agarwal and deputy commissioner Mohammed Shayin. Officials from different departments such as municipal corporation and electricity also attended the meeting.
