Punjab restores LTC facility for employees

The Punjab government has restored the facility of leave travel concession (LTC) for its employees with effect from September 1. The LTC facility for 2012-13 had been suspended last year as an austerity measure.

A government spokesman said on Thursday that with the aim of reducing expenditure, the state government had suspended the facility from September 1, 2012, to August 31, 2013. He said officers/employees would now be able to avail the facility from September 1, 2013.

He said instructions in this regard had already been issued to all departmental heads, Punjab and Haryana high court registrar, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and sub-divisional magistrates.
