Five activists of Student Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU) have been booked for firing in the air after they were stopped from putting up posters at a public place in the wee hours of Friday.
Deputy superintendent of police (central) Ashish Kapoor said the students have been identified and would be arrested soon.
The police said Kansal resident Parkash Singh, who works as a watchman, complained that five youths came in a SUV to the inner market, Sector-8 around 2.30 am. The youths had come to paste posters in the market, to which the watchman objected.
