On the 3rd day of Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi offered floral tributes to the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the 153rd birth anniversary of the 'Father of the Nation'. He attended an event at Khadi Gramodyog at Badanavalu of Mysuru and paid his respects to Mahatma Gandhi along with Karnataka Congress leaders. At the Khadi Gramodyog event, Rahul Gandhi interacted with the women workers and asked them about their daily work and income.

BSP to go solo in K’taka assembly polls
The BSP will contest the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections on its own. The party has finalised the names of 60% candidates and will announce them in local meetings. The BSP had formed an alliance with the JD (S) in 2018 and had joined the HD Kumaraswamy government, but later withdrew due to the JD (S)'s alliance with the Congress. Cricketer Kedar Jadhav’s father Mahadev goes missing in Pune
Mahadev Sopan Jadhav, father of cricketer Kedar Jadhav, has been missing since Monday morning from Pune's Kothrud area. Pune Police has launched a search for the 75-year-old, who is suffering from Dementia and was last seen wearing a white shirt and grey pants. A police complaint has been lodged in the Alankar Police station.

Test Covid preparations in all hospitals via mock drills: U.P. CM
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to identify Covid-dedicated hospitals in every district and provide immediate treatment to Covid and influenza patients. He also directed the officials to conduct mock drills in hospitals across the state and raise awareness among people to wear masks at crowded places. He emphasized on increasing the number of Covid tests and suggested special vigilance in Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar districts. He also instructed the officials to ensure oxygen plants are functional and deploy paramedical staff and anaesthetists wherever necessary.

2 injured after fight sparks shooting at US gurdwara
Two men were involved in a shootout at a gurdwara in California on Sunday, resulting in two people being hospitalised with non-life threatening injuries. According to the Sacramento county sheriff?s office, the incident was not related to a hate crime and was a confrontation between two men who knew each other. The second man involved in the fight remains at large.

In Jalandhar: Bhawant Mann gives go ahead to projects worth ₹100-cr
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann approved development projects worth nearly ?100 crore in Jalandhar in preparation for the Lok Sabha by-elections. He dedicated a new plant, inaugurated a smart school, and laid the foundation stone of roads and street lights. Lt. Manmeet Colon, a 37-year-old Indian-origin Sikh woman, has become the first-ever Asian assistant police chief in Connecticut. Colon, a 15-year veteran of the New Haven Police Department, was sworn in on Friday. She immigrated to the US at 11 and graduated from the police academy in 2008. U.P.: Teacher aspirants protest outside minister’s residence in Lucknow
Hundreds of candidates protested outside the official residence of the UP minister of state for basic education over not being selected in the appointment of 69,000 assistant teachers. The protesters accused the state of discrimination against the reserved category and met with the minister. The minister asked for 20 days and promised a decision in their favour. The court had directed the state to prepare a revised list of 69,000 teachers due to irregularities in fixing the quota for their appointment.

Two women arrested for harbouring Amritpal, aide sent to judicial custody
Two women accused of providing shelter to pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh and his aide Papalpreet have been sent to judicial custody. Five men were arrested for providing logistics to Amritpal, with one accompanying him from Jallupur Khera. They were booked under IPC and Arms Act.

U.P. CM to gift projects worth ₹6K crore to Gorakhpur, Kushinagar

23 fall ill after taking khichdi at community feast in U.P.’s Baghpat
At least 23 people fell ill after consuming khichdi at a religious community feast in Baghpat district on Sunday. District officials rushed to the village and those who fell ill were taken to the district hospital. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to determine how the khichdi was poisoned.

Amritpal believed to be hiding in Nepal: Report
India has requested Nepal to not allow fugitive radical preacher Amritpal Singh to flee to a third country and arrest him if he attempts to escape using Indian passport or any other fake passport. The letter and Amritpal's personal details have been circulated to all agencies concerned. He has been on the run since March 18.

Have directed DGP to release youth taken in preventive custody: Bhagwant Mann
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said the state government and Punjab Police are working as per law in the crackdown against Amritpal Singh, chief of Waris Punjab De. 207 persons have been arrested, of which 44 have been released. Bhagwant Mann ruled out any leaks in the information and said the law will take its own course. Former SAD MP Prem Singh Chandumajra demanded immediate release of 12 youth from SBS Nagar district.
