On the third consecutive day of indefinite protest against alleged embezzlement in the ongoing police constable recruitment process, the job aspirants, who were staging a dharna on the Sangrur-Ludhiana road, got support from farmer unions on Thursday.

The protesters alleged that over 72 hours of the protest had passed but the state government had not paid heed to their concerns.

Naujawan Sangharsh Committee state leaders Jaspal Singh Tollawalia, Raman Gill and Lakhvir Kaur, in a statement, said farmer union leaders joined their protest and assured support, but the government was stuck in “corruption and nepotism”.
