Accompanied by area councillor Dalip Sharma, the mayor interacted with around 70–80 vendors who claimed they had been fighting the case for nearly 23 years and recently secured a favourable court decision.

The vendors said that despite the ruling and earlier assurances by the Market Committee, proper spaces for them to run their businesses have not yet been allotted. They also highlighted the difficulties they face in earning their livelihood due to the absence of fixed vending areas.

Representatives of the vendors, including Deepak Kumar, Harish Kumar, Daya Ram and Papu, urged the civic authorities to implement the court decision and provide the promised spaces.
