500 sportspersons in UP to get govt jobs: Yogi

UP CM Yogi Adityanath announced that over 500 sportspersons from the state who participated in world and national championships will be absorbed into UP Police force and other administrative departments. TMC leader Anubrata Mondal has been sent to Tihar jail for 13 days after his 14-day ED custody ended. The Calcutta high court set aside a petition challenging the production warrant, allowing ED to take him to Delhi. He is accused of involvement in cattle smuggling and money laundering, with 168 land and property deeds suspected to be linked to him.

No need to take back Dharavi project from Adani Group, says Fadnavis

Deputy CM Fadnavis confirmed the state is issuing a letter of intent to Adani Realty for the Dharavi redevelopment project, despite allegations of stock manipulation and fraud. He assured the state will not award the project to an individual and it will be done as per the rules. Congress raised suspicion over the tendering process and demanded fresh tenders. The project involves rehabilitation of 10 lakh people and redevelopment of 240 hectares of prime land over a 17-year span.

The Chandigarh Administration has declared March 23 as a public holiday to commemorate the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. The notification issued on Tuesday applies to all government offices, corporations, institutions, industrial establishments and those within Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 in Chandigarh.

JD-U announced two new teams of party office bearers at the national and state level. KC Tyagi was kept out of the list of office-bearers on his request. Former MP Magni Lal Mandal has been appointed as the party’s vice president while former MLC Rajeev Ranjan has been appointed as JD-U general secretary and national spokesperson. A 251-member state committee has also been formed with 20 vice presidents, 105 general secretaries, 114 secretaries, 11 spokespersons and one treasurer.

UPPCL chairman dismissed an SDO, Ravindra Prakash Gautam, after an inquiry found he had put up a picture of terrorist Osama bin Laden in his office. The incident occurred in June 2022, when Gautam was posted in Farrukhabad district. Gautam had allegedly idolised Bin Laden due to his engineering degree.

The Punjab Police have launched an all-out manhunt for pro-Khalistan radical preacher Amritpal Singh, who evaded arrest. They have arrested four people who helped him escape and issued an arrest warrant for him under the National Security Act. Intelligence officials allege that he was offered money by Pakistan's ISI to revive militancy in Punjab, and sent to Georgia for training.

Free treatment in govt hospitals for Chhattisgarh residents from June 1: Deo

Chhattisgarh health and family welfare minister TS Singh Deo announced that from June 1, the state will provide free treatment, diagnostics, medicines and all kinds of diagnostic services in all government-run health facilities. The scheme is approved by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and aims to ensure health as a right to people according to the concept of universal health care.

Right to health bill passed in Rajasthan assembly

Rajasthan Legislative Assembly passed the Right to Health Bill 2022, entitling people to emergency care in private hospitals without pre-payment. The state government will reimburse fees if patient is unable to pay. The bill also prohibits any health care provider from delaying treatment for police clearance. Penalty for violation includes a fine of up to ?20,000.

Residents of Sector 14 in Navi Mumbai oppose NMMC's plan to construct a ?3.5 crore bypass road, fearing it will lead to traffic congestion and security issues.
