CM Uddhav Thackeray discharged after spine surgery

Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, who underwent cervical spine surgery on November 12, was discharged from the hospital on Thursday.

Thackeray had been suffering from neck and backache for weeks before he underwent the surgery and a procedure for clotting in his spine, which delayed the discharge.

A source from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) informed, “CM Thackeray has been undergoing physiotherapy sessions after his surgery. The sessions are crucial for his recovery and are expected to go on for a few more weeks after which he will resume office physically. Meanwhile, he has been holding online meetings and clearing important files.”

The CM has decided to stay at his official residence Varsha and sources said that the visitors have been strictly prohibited from meeting him at his residence.

“CM is expected to attend the office physically during the winter session of the state legislature slated from December 22,” informed an official.

A source said that the CM is signing key files and a few orders are being issued after discussion with him. Many other important files from various key departments including urban development, public works, housing are pending for his approval.
