Mumbai: The Crime Branch on Thursday arrested two alleged bookies for betting on an ongoing IPL match between Rajasthan and Kolkata teams. Investigations revealed that the accused had access to user IDs and passwords of two betting websites.

The arrested persons have been identified as Santosh Amit Yadav, 36, and Anjapa Gopal Darari, 35. Authorities have issued notices to them, and they are currently being interrogated to uncover links to a larger betting syndicate.

A forensic examination of their mobile phones confirmed that they were using the credentials of two betting websites to place bets.

A case has been registered against them at Dahisar police station under the Maharashtra Gambling Act, and further investigations are underway to trace the network’s higher connections.
