The blaze, reported around 1:20 PM, began in the kitchen and quickly spread, damaging household items, wiring, and walls. Firefighters from Katraj and Gangadham stations brought it under control and rescued Mahamuni, who was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Santosh Bhilare, the on-site fireman, said, “The senior citizen was alone at home and had left something on the cooking gas. A leakage caused a fire, which quickly spread. He sustained injuries in the incident and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.”

An investigation is underway, and fire officials urged residents to maintain gas connections and ensure proper kitchen ventilation.
