India vs Pakistan, Under-19 Cricket World Cup: Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag hail Prithvi Shaw & Co.

India entered the final of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World cup with an emphatic 203-run victory against arch-rivals Pakistan in Christchurch. Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag are all praise for Prithvi Shaw and Co.

There was no stopping the Indian under-19 cricket team as they thumped arch-rivals Pakistan by a whopping 203 runs in the second semi-final at Christchurch to advance into the final of ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup on Tuesday. At Mount Maunganui on Saturday, Indian colts will now take on Australia in what could be a repeat of the 2012 Under-19 Cricket World Cup summit clash.

Indian Colts’ dominating performance on Tuesday saw them receive praise from all quarters of Indian cricket fraternity with a host of present and past cricketers taking to Twitter to hail Prithvi Shaw and Co. Shubman Gill stood out with a classy century while pacer Ishan Porel ran through the Pakistan batting line-up. (FULL SCORECARD)

Leading the tributes for the young team was cricket great Sachin Tendulkar who was all praise for the quality the side has shown in all departments. The Little Master also wished the boys good luck for the final.

Former Indian opener, Virender Sehwag was not far behind in appreciating the under-19 boys as he termed their performance ‘brutal’ in his tweet. Former middle order batsman VVS Laxman, former opener turned popular commentator, Aakash Chopra and Uttar Pradesh southpaw Suresh Raina were among others who also took to the social media to applaud the Indian Under-19 team’s feat.

Batting first, India posted 272/9 thanks to a brilliant hundred from Shubman Gill. The Indian bowlers then tore apart Pakistan’s batting shooting them out for only 69 to hand over their side a huge win and a place in the final. Ishan Porel was the pick of Indian bowlers claiming 4/17.
