MI vs KKR highlights, IPL 2021: Tripathi, Iyer hit blazing fifties, KKR blow away MI by 7 wickets in Abu Dhabi

FOUR! We saw the brute power and timing from Venkatesh Iyer and now it's time to see his delicacy with the bat. Picks up the length early and just taps it fine and away from the backward point fielder to collect another boundary. This is an innings that will earn him many fans. KKR 85/1 after 8 overs.

SIX! Venkatesh Iyer goes down the track and smashed it over deep mid-wicket for another six. Krunal Pandya can't believe it and neither can we. This young man is doing something special for the second match in a row. 

12 runs from Adam Milne's second over. And that ends the powerplay. No prizes for guessing who is bossing the game right now. It has been KKR al the way. They have reached 63 for 1 at the end of the first six overs and now need only 93 runs off 84 balls at just over a six runs per over.  

FOUR! KKR has been unleashed. It doesn't matter who is the batsmen, they are all gonna just go for it. Milne dugs it in short but Tripathi was sort of expecting it and he moves towards the off side and flicks it over short fine leg for a boundary.  

That's a good over from Krunal Pandya. The first over without a boundary in the KKR run chase so far Only 3 runs from it. This is an important period of lay, we all saw what the KKR spinners did for them, can the MI spinners do the same? If they can, we are in for a fascinating contest. 

Some sanity back in the game it seems. But still KKR manage to get 8 runs from Boult's second over. 8 seems a lot less now as we've seen a couple of 15 run overs right at the top. Now it's all about holding their nerves and batting a bit sensibly for KKR but don't think Iyer understands any of it. KKR 48/1 after 4 overs. 

OUT! BOWLED! Bumrah puts an end to the carnage. Shubman Gill departs for 13. Just the genius of Bumrah It was a cutter and it just found a way to get the inside edge of Gill's bat and hit the stumps. MI needed this. KKR 40/1 after 3 overs.

FOUR! Even Bumrah is not spared. Full, in search of a yorker, doesn't get it right and is hammered straight down the ground. This is unreal stuff from the left-hander. 

FOUR again! Full and wide from Milne, Iyer went at it with hard hands, got the outside edge and it races away. The third man was inside the circle. 15 runs off the over again. KKR 30/0 after 2 overs. 

SIX! Just a fraction shot from Milne and Venkatesh Iyer very quick to get on to the backfoot. But boy did he get a good connection to that one. It went flat and over the ropes. This is some start by KKR. 

This time, it's Iyer, who takes Boult on. ‘International bowler? What’s that?' is what Iyer must be saying. Short ball from Gill but Iyer hooks it thunderously over the ropes. Expensive over first up by MI; great start for KKR.

Shot! Oh, that is an absolute cracker. Boult tries to swing the ball into the right hander but Gill gets his front foot out and whips the ball magnificently for the first six of KKR innings. What timing. Incredible.

Against RCB, KKR's newest opening pair of Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer got off to a brisk start in chase of a modest target of 93. However, against Bumrah, Boult and Milne, Gill and Iyer will be tested. Alright then. Chase of 156 runs… here it begins. 

FOUR! Saurabh Tiwary hits a four off the last ball but it has been a fantastic over from Ferguson. Two wickets (one run out) and only 6 runs from it. KKR would be mighty pleased to restrict Mumbai Indians to 155 for 6 after winning the toss.

OUT! Two-in-two for KKR. Ferguson gets Krunal Pandya. No power on that shot. It was back of a length delivery and Pandya gave it his all but couldn't get the timing.  Wickets are tumbling at the end for MI, they are 149/6 with only 3 balls to go

OUT! Kieron Pollard is run out for 21. MI 149/5 with only 4 balls to go. KKR are closing it out on the right note, Ferguson just needs to keep his calm. 

Good comeback by Russell after conceding that six off the second ball. Right then MI are 149/4 with only one over to go. How many can they get? Surely they would be eyeing 160. 

SIX! Picked up the slower bouncer well there Krunal Pandya. He can hit them big, make no mistake. KKR would be wrong if they only concentrate on Pollard because time and again Krunal can hit these big shots and hurt any opposition.

It was a free hit. Prasidh Krishna has been lucky twice today.  His free hits have not resulted in boundaries but he needs to be careful. These could potentially change the course of the game. 

SIX! Brutal power from Pollard. It was slower ball from Krishna. Pollard rocked back, waited for it to arrive and muscled it over deep mid wicket to collect his first six. MI need this, they need to get 160 and Pollard's there man. 

OUT! Lockie Ferguson gets Ishan Kishan for 14. It just got big on him. The extra bounce and pace hurried him. It was nowhere near the middle of the bat. Kishan ended up slicing it to Russell, who takes a good catch running in from long on. MI 119/4 after 16.2 overs

FOUR! The attempted yorker from Russell goes slightly wrong. Pollard takes it on the half volley and flicks it away towards mid wicket. Lockie Ferguson puts in the dive the is unable to stop the ball from touching the ropes. 

SIX! Russell drops it short but nowhere near the height he would have liked to achieve and Kishan rocks back and pulls it over square-leg for a maximum. Not happening for Russell tonight. 

OUT! TAKEN! Prasidh Krishna gets the big wicket! Krishna deceives de Kock by serving it slow and outside off, asking him to hit. Quinton de Kock rocks back and pulls it hard but straight to mid-wicket where the ball sticks in the hands of Sunil Narine. A slight pressure in the dugout of Mumbai. De Kock goes for 55. MI 106/3 after 14.5 overs

A play and miss from de Kock. Praisdh Krishna would breath a sigh of relief. First he overstepped to award a free hit to de Kock and then he bowled a wide But in the end, no harm done. 

A very good innings from Quinton de Kock but he needs to carry on and get a big one. 

OUT! Edged and taken. Suryakumar Yadav the man dismissed. Prasidh Krishna with a brilliant start to his second spell. It was on good length and just moved away. SKY was on the move while playing that uppish drive, got an outside edge and Karthik makes no mistake. MI 89/2, a good period of play for KKR. 

Another good spell comes to an end. Sunil Narine and Chakravarthy have sort of brought KKR back into the contest. Narine finishes with 4 overs 1 for 20. So MI, despite a strong opening partnership are finding it hard to really hit the boundaries. 

A very impressive spell from Varun Chakravarthy. Even when Rohit and de Kock were on song, he kept his composure and didn't allow these two stalwarts to get away. Chakravarthy finishes with four overs 22 for none. MI 86/1 after 11 overs. 

How many has he been the crisis man for KKR in the IPL? Narine once again putting his hand up and showing the way for KKR bowlers. Just 3 runs from his over and more importantly, the wicket of Rohit Sharma in it. MI 80/1 after 10 overs. 

OUT! Narine provides the breakthrough for KKR. Rohit goes for 33 off 30. he really had to go after the start they've got but this time doesn't get the desired timing and his holed out at long on. Not the first time Narine has got Rohit out. MI 78/1

The shackles have been broken. Rohit and de Kock take 14 runs from the first over Andre Russell. If KKR don't get a wicket quickly then this match could runaway very quickly from them. 

FOUR! Short and wide from Russell but not that wide to be fair to him. Just enough for de Kock to open his arms and hammer it past the mid off fielder. Russell has been greeted with a solid stroke. What will be his answer? 

Now Chakravarthy with another tight over, only three runs from it and he almost got the wicket of de Kock. KKR this bowling pair to make inroads into the MI batting line-up. 

That's a good over from Sunil Narine. Straight after the timeout, he puts the brakes on the rampaging MI innings. Only four runs from the over. MI 60/0 after 7 overs. 

SIX again! De Kock has launched into an attack against Krishna. Fifty up for Mumbai Indians in the 6th over. De Kock and Rohit are flying. MI 54/0 after 5.5 overs

SIX! Picked up the slower ball early, waits for it and then hits over long on for a beautiful straight six. This is not good for KKR. Their experiment with spin with the ball didn't get them a wicket and now Rohit and de Kock have got their eyes in to go after the seamers. 

SIX! The sound off de Kock's bat was enough to suggest where that ball was heading - deeeeeep into the stands. Ferguson dropped it short, it was not high enough and de Kock swivled back and pulled it over squareleg. The first six of the match. MI: 40/0 after 5 overs.

FOUR - one over mid-off. FOUR again - this time with a slog sweep. Rohit Sharma has had enough of the KKR spinners with the new bal. He has decided to attack Chakravarthy. 4 overs of spin bit too many at the start?

They had to do something. The KKR spinners had got them into strangle and so Rohit and de Kock decided to take Narine on and succeeded to be honest. They got a boundary each in the third over. 11 runs off the over. MI 20/0 after 3 overs.
