IRE vs WI Commentary
4:32 PM IST That is all from this game. So, the third ODI turns out to be a must win for West Indies who are 1-0 down at the moment in the series. Do join us for the final ODI on the 25th of this month at 9.45 am GMT. Do join us earlier for the build up. Cheers!
4:30 PM IST So, the inevitable has happened. THE MATCH HAS BEEN CALLED OFF. The rain was persistent enough for the undesirable result to take place. The rain was predicted right from the start but luckily we got a clear sky and a nice 50-over battle to watch. Keacy Carty grabbed the headlines but it was Forde's fifty (the joint-fastest ODI half-century in the history of the game) that took the total over 350. The stage was set for Ireland to show their batting prowess as they did in the first ODI but the weather gods had other plans.
4:21 PM IST UPDATE - 16.18 GMT - The umpires are discussing with the ground staff under umbrellas, suggesting the rain is still impacting play, and a decision on the game's status is likely imminent; given the heavy rain and poor drainage, the match might be abandoned with Dublin's weather forecast showing more chances of rain.
4:05 PM IST UPDATE- 16.03 GMT - The situation remains unchanged, with the grounds staff having attempted some activity around the pitch, but it seems they've given up for now. With no new updates, the chances of the game proceeding look increasingly bleak. Fingers are still crossed that the rain will subside and play will resume, but it doesn't look promising at the moment.
3:34 PM IST UPDATE - 15.20 GMT - The rain in Dublin continues to cause a delay in the Ireland vs West Indies 2nd ODI match. The cut-off time for a 20-over contest is 17.00 GMT.
3:13 PM IST UPDATE - 15.11 GMT - Not a single human being present on the ground. The rain continues to pour down. Just a reminder, a minimum of 20 overs is required to constitute a completed ODI. For that, we need the rain to stop as quickly as possible.
