KAR vs PES Commentary

5:58 PM IST Adios! That wraps up our coverage. A dominant victory for Peshawar Zalmi! The thrilling PSL action continues right around the corner as the Quetta Gladiators prepare to lock horns with Rawalpindiz on April 10th at 2 pm GMT. Be sure to tune in early to catch all the pre-match build-up, but until then, it's goodbye and cheers from all of us here in the commentary box!
5:57 PM IST Kusal Mendis is the Player of the Match for his magnificent century.
5:51 PM IST A nightmare start for the Kings - Faced with a mountain to climb, the Karachi Kings' run chase was derailed right from the get-go. The top order completely collapsed under the pressure of the massive target, slumping to a dismal 8/3 in no time.  Iftikhar Ahmed drew first blood by dismissing Muhammad Waseem for a duck, and Shoriful Islam quickly followed suit by sending David Warner packing for a golden duck in the very next over. When Iftikhar returned to trap Salman Ali Agha, the Kings' dugout was stunned and the required run rate had already started to slip out of reach.
5:49 PM IST Zalmi's batting masterclass - Peshawar Zalmi put on an absolute clinic with the bat, posting a mammoth 246/3 in the first innings. Even though they lost Mohammad Haris to a duck in the opening over, Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis launched a ferocious counter-attack, stitching together the highest partnership in PSL history.  Mendis was in a punishing mood, smashing a magnificent 48-ball century, while Babar anchored the innings beautifully with an unbeaten 87 off 51 deliveries. Abdul Samad then provided the late fireworks, playing a blistering cameo of 40 from just 12 balls to absolutely demoralize the opposition bowlers in the death overs.
5:48 PM IST Zalmi seal the deal - The middle order offered very little resistance against a fired-up Zalmi bowling attack. Nahid Rana and Sufiyan Muqeem ripped through the batting lineup, picking up crucial wickets in quick succession, including those of Azam Khan and Moeen Ali. Despite a brief pause in play due to a spider cam issue, the inevitable end came swiftly after the restart.  Muqeem and Iftikhar cleaned up the tail, bundling Karachi out for a paltry 87. With this clinical bowling performance, Peshawar Zalmi wrapped up a massive 159-run victory, officially cementing their place in the record books with the biggest winning margin in the history of the tournament.
