The stage was set for Ireland to show their batting prowess as they did in the first ODI but the weather gods had other plans.

4:21 PM IST UPDATE - 16.18 GMT - The umpires are discussing with the ground staff under umbrellas, suggesting the rain is still impacting play, and a decision on the game's status is likely imminent; given the heavy rain and poor drainage, the match might be abandoned with Dublin's weather forecast showing more chances of rain.
