7:17 AM IST Mahmudul Hasan Joy, PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says he is a bit disappointed but happy to contribute to the team's success. Mentions it was pretty good to bat on these conditions. Reckons he tried to score boundaries after reaching his century but Mominul Haque told him to play sensibly. Ends by saying they are excited for the next match as Mushfiqur Rahim will play his 100th Test.

7:15 AM IST Andy Balbirnie, the skipper of Ireland says they enjoy every challenge. Credits Bangladesh for the way they played and feels they put them on the back foot right from the start. He is happy with his team for the way they fought today. Tells skills wise, Bangladesh are brilliant in home conditions but in testing conditions, he is satisfied with how his team played. Reckons his team will play well if they are exposed to more international cricket.

7:14 AM IST In the second and concluding session, Ireland counterattacked and tried to cut the deficit pretty quickly but Bangladesh stuck with their spinners to finish the proceedings. Ireland showed a tremendous fight in the second innings. They'll look to learn from it and replicate a similar performance in the second match and put in an even contest.

7:13 AM IST Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh's skipper. He says the opening partnership was tremendous and hopes they will contribute in the next match as well. On Hasan Murad, Najmul Hossain Shanto says he has been waiting for a long time, Murad is doing well in first-class cricket and reckons he is an exciting bowler. Shares they want to play on a sporting wicket, on all four days, it was a pretty good wicket.
