11:48 AM IST India simply didn’t have enough runs on the board for their bowlers to create any real pressure. Jasprit Bumrah bowled well with the new ball, but early wickets were what they desperately needed and couldn’t get. Kuldeep Yadav took some punishment in his first over but bounced back nicely to claim a couple of wickets, while Varun Chakaravarthy continued his good form with two of his own. Bumrah returned in his second spell and struck twice in two balls - one of the few positives to take from the game. However, the batters will need to step up if India are to challenge a quality side like Australia.
