India Women vs Ireland Women Commentary

12:17 PM IST Right then, that's all we have from this series opener. Ireland can take positives from their batting performance, but they will be hoping for more control from their bowlers going forward in the series. As for India, fielding has been an Achilles' heel, and they will want to address these lapses as each game becomes crucial leading into the World Cup. The two teams will meet again at the same venue on Sunday, January 12, for the 2nd ODI. The first ball will be bowled at 11 am IST (5.30 am GMT), but as always, you can join us in advance for the build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!

12:15 PM IST Pratika Rawal is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her brilliance with the bat. She says that she is comfortable in this dressing room and is playing very freely. Adds that she enjoys from the non-striker’s end with Smriti Mandhana at the other end as she takes the pressure off her. Mentions that she was trying to keep it simple at the start and then carry out that momentum throughout the inning. Further says that Tejal finished very well. Tells that she is just doing what she is good at and doesn’t think much about the records and numbers. Concludes that she likes to play lofted shots when the ball is in the slot otherwise she just looks to find those singles to get off strike.
